The Big Island Academy of Massage is the only Vocational Trade Academy  in downtown Hilo.  It is recognize and approved  by the State of Hawaii Massage Board Licensing.  We are also AMTA school member in good standing &  have student job placement. All Books and supplies may be purchased through the school.

Big Island  Massage Clinic provides high quality, inexpensive Continuing Education for massage therapists who not only need to renew their Hawaii Massage License, but want to truly deepen the way they work with their clients and reinvigorate the way they feel about their practice. Big Island Academy of Massage  has  facilitated the education of hundreds of massage students and  LMTs with monthly diversified  massage classes over the past 20 years.. We are known in all of Big Island as Provider of the finest Massage Therapists.

To be considered for our program you must:

  1. Apply with a $50.00  non-refundable registration fee or to be used for upcoming workshop.
  2. Be at least 17 years of age
  3. Have a US citizenship 
  4. Make financial arrangements and sign a student contract.

NOTE: Our program is based on a first come basis (for those that qualify), classes fill up quickly so early registration is advised.  Check our DIscounts ( of 25% & 15%  ) for early bird sign up birds. No one will be considered registered until they have met all of the above requirements.

Pre-licensing requirements: With the onset of pending changes in the state Board of Massage rules, all students must be finished with Level I and Level II programs before they can apply for a License.  Students will need to meet the Hawaii standards and Fees accordingly. APPRENTICESHIP: We accept Apprenticeships from other massage schools.   If you have accumulated massage training hours or licenses from another state and have questions about transferring your hours to obtain a Hawaii State Massage license, click here
